Beginner Golfer Mastering The Fundamentals

When I first started to play golf, seems like the Stone Ages compared to now, there was not a lot of information forgiving tips and advice. Especially like there is now. Technology has come a long way.

The mistakes I was making were not as easily fixable. Just goes to show you that you cannot watch the pros on Tv and then go out and try to copy their swings. it took them a long time to learn and with lots of practice. No amount of practicing on my own was ever going to get me swinging like the pros do now. can you just imagine trying to copy Tiger Woods swing?

If you are just starting out you have to remember that this game is not easy. It could take you a while to master some of the skills that go along with this game. it will take you lots of practice but you will get comfortable. There will be good days and bad but understanding that will help you succeed in the long run.

And that one day when you go out to play and things just click, ahh, those are the days we live for. That one thing you were working on that seemed so hard to do will seem natural, like you have been doing it forever.

Remember The Basics

The more you play this game the more you will realize, just stick to the basics. This might even work for you in your every day life. With golf there will always be ups and downs, just like anything else. But it will always serve you well to get back to the fundamentals of the game. With those you can never go wrong.

A good rule to live by is you want to always do better than the last time you played. It will not always happen but if you strive for that it will improve your game. Golf is a game of persistence and patience. These are just as important as hitting the ball. They will also drive you toward that ultimate goal of consistency on the golf course.

Hopefully you will not have the pleasure of watching someone with no patience out trying to strike that little ball and not having much success. it makes you wonder why they are even out there trying to play. Some good advice for that is to watch them closely and learn how to duck fast as you do not want to get hit with one of their clubs that they may fling about.

Be One With Your Clubs

As you begin to learn the fundamentals of golf, another piece of advice is to stick with the same set of clubs for a couple of years. Those early growing pains of golf can be greatly discomforting. It will help you to be able to have the reliability of knowing your clubs. they could provide the stability when out playing a good round.

Just knowing you have some trusted clubs can make your whole round easier. Especially in the beginning changing clubs can have a negative effect on your game. It could discourage you to the point of wanting to be one of those club throwers. Those trusted clubs will help you become comfortable with your game.

There will come a time when you will know when it is time to move on to that next set of clubs. It may be an intermediate set as you still may want a better set down the road, but at least you will know and feel like it is time for that to happen. Golf is a game that you can play for a long time. And I am sure during that time you will acquire more clubs than you will know what to do with. But I bet when and if you decide to give them up they will have a story, good or bad, that you will be able to share with some one.
